Salmon River - Kilpatrick to North Fork; Salmon City Area [SA4A]

Jet boat outfitters on the Salmon River near North Fork and the City of Salmon offer scenic tours of this area during the spring when water levels are favorable for power boating.
Scenic tours are normally half-day trips or full-day trips with lunch. Your jet boat guide will talk about the history and lore of the Salmon River area as you tour this more “civilized” portion of the river. The City of Salmon has about 3,300 residents today. It’s a popular spot along U.S. Highway 93, and you’ll find that the community is proud of its heritage as a mining, farming, ranching and recreation community.
In the 1800s, the Lemhi Band of the Shoshone occupied the valley, and they welcomed the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery to the Salmon River country in 1805. The community recently built the Sacajawea Center in honor of the Native American woman who accompanied the Corps of Discovery on their journey. It’s an interpretive, cultural and education center and 71-acre park located two miles from Salmon.
Be sure to ask your jet boat guide about fishing trips and steelhead trips in the vicinity.
