Coeur d’ Alene River - Devils Elbow to South Fork Confluence [CD1]

This is a great way to spend the day in the Coeur d’ Alene/Spokane area. The lower stretch is a nice and peaceful float that is great for all ages and abilities. If you are nervous about younger children this is your float trip. You can get out on the water without any stress and has gentle flows that run all summer long. The Upper stretch well known for some of the finest fly fishing in the area, begins 20 miles east of Coeur d Alene and has a thriving population of both cutthroat and rainbow trout. This section, which includes Tee Pee and Independence creeks, offers superlative walk and wade fly fishing and you can expect to catch fish bigger than what you would probably expect to find in these headwaters.
