This beautiful Class III stretch cuts through a 500-foot-deep gorge. There is no access for most of the run so be prepared. Most the rapids occur in the first two miles. During the shuttle there are some overlooks to roughly scout the run. There are some good fishing possibilities as well.
Take out at the U.S. 20 bridge that crosses the Henry's Fork near Ashton. Head due east from Ashton on State Highway 47 which shortly turns up the Henry's Fork. Turn off at Grand View Campground. From the campground, follow a primitive unsigned dirt track south to the put-in. Make sure to put in below Lower Mesa Falls, a 65-foot falls.
